The Year of the Rabbit – Part 6/6

Part 6. Accept everything

“The single most important rule for improvisation comedian is to always accept everything. You have to say ‘yes’ to new situations or you will end up in a dead-end in no time.”

In the aftermath of my moment of clarity in the Gobi desert, I had an as-objective-as-can-be analysis of my situation, did some brainstorming with myself couple of times and made up a plan to have something to aim for (and to deviate from, if needed).

Now I was prepared to meet all the opportunities disguised as challenges coming my way. I knew that luck is nothing more than when preparedness meets opportunity. I knew there would be a solution for everything and that I just had to be patient and wait for it to appear to me. I knew fear was energy that could be used to drive me forward at the moment of hesitation. I felt strong and balanced. I was enjoying the past, present and coming challenges again. Siberia had indeed taught me something – something important, namely “to accept everything that happens to me“.

So I accepted my situation. I made one serious promise to myself – to start listening to my gut feeling. I made three big decisions, one for each cup I wanted to fill with its special life-ingredient. The decisions were painful, promising and prudent.

P.S. Hope you enjoyed my little sneak-peek of the past. A lot of life in all colours has flowed through me since Gobi. Maybe I will write about that later, maybe not. No promises..
