Sendero

Chilean red wine, 2 years old (2008). Smells and looks older. Deep,
almost black in colour. One can feel black currant, plum and other
sweet black fruit flavours with just a hint of black pepper and
vanilla at the finish. It’s even paprika mentioned on the label but my
untrained taste-buds failed to notice any of it 🙂 Taste rather
reminded me of cherry cola and chocolate truffle. Well-balanced, it
was neither too sour nor too bitter. Terrific weight with good length
of aftertaste and soft tannins.

We had it with fried pork, but for its fruity and balanced character
would go well with any meal, even fruits.

UPDATE 30.4.2010:

We bought another bottle of Sendero just to verify the quality and yes – the wine tasted excellent also this time. Therefore we can safely conclude that Sendero is a safe buy for everyone with a similar taste for wines.
